Customers of HERE, a clothing retailer, will receive a 10% discount on items from the brand's new denim collection, provided they return another item to the store. The promotion is already in effect and will continue throughout the month of April.
Returned clothing will be sent to ReCycle Movement, the retailer's circular economy program. Depending on the condition and material, the item follows one of three possible paths: being recovered and reused to make another product, a process known in the industry as upcycling, recycled, or donated. There are ReCiclo collection points in all C&A stores, totaling more than 300 in Brazil.
Cynthia Kasai, the company's senior ESG manager, said in a statement that the circular economy plays an important role in the brand's positive impact strategy. "By encouraging the proper disposal of clothing, we reduce textile waste and promote sustainable practices among our customers," she noted.
