The amount of trash The amount of waste produced by a city is proportional to the number of inhabitants living there. São Paulo, Rio, and other capitals discard a lot of waste. But their city governments don't always manage to recycle everything that could be reused.
That's where the collectors that, in a gigantic effort, support their families by recycling what they find on the long walks they travel. And this very category of workers, often marginalized, was the focus of a training initiative.

The initiative is from Dom Cabral Foundation, from Novelis and the National Association of Recyclable Material Collectors (ANCAT) and was presented at the end of last year at 10th Expo collectors, which took place in Brasilia.
